Hydrangea
Although this flower originally comes from southern and eastern Asia, it can now be found in most gardening centres and has become a popular feature in many gardens. I know I truly enjoy my hydrangeas, and have them both planted in my garden and in flower pots on my patio.
Hydrangeas come in different colours. Most species of the hydrangea are white, but some species change colour based on the soil acidity. If you buy a blue hydrangea, it could become pink, or vice versa due to the acidity in the soil where you planted it. In soil with pH lower than 6, the flowers tend to be blue, but in soil with pH higher than 6, the flowers tend to be pink. Therefore, if you are planning to plant hydrangeas in your garden, and are particular about the colour, you ought to check the pH level in the soil.
If you are planning to use hydrangeas in flower decorations, I would advise you to buy pots of hydrangeas and enjoy them until you need to cut of the flowers and use them in your decorations. You can read more about using hydrangeas in wedding decorations on this websites dedicated to hydrangeas.
