Lily of the valley
Lily of the valley is a sweet
flower with characteristic leaves. With its small bells, and eye-catching
leaves, this flower is a wonderful addition to any bouquet. After its bloom,
the small bells will turn into red berries. Both the flowers and berries are
poisonous, especially for animals and small children. The latin name of lily of
the valley is Convallaria.
This flower blooms in the
beginning of summer. In Norway, it usually blooms in May/June. The flower is
perennial and can be found in the forest. Lily of the valley is also a common
garden flower, and if you know in advance that you want this flower for
decorations, you should add it to your garden.
This flower is perfect for a DIY
wedding bouquet, since you can easily grow it yourself. Lily of the valley is
very popular in wedding bouquets. Famous brides that have had this flower in
their bouquet are Duchess Catherine of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) and PrincessGrace of Monaco.
