Baby's breath

A flower you constantly see in bouquets is baby's breath. This is a plant with lots of white flowers.
The latin name for the plant is gypsophila. There are several species of this plant, but the one that is often used in floral arrangements is called gypsophilla paniculata.

It is very common to use this plant alongside other flowers, but it can be very nice by itself as well. The thin branches and small flowers creates a delicate effect that suits weddings. If you like this plant, and are looking for ways to use it, you can have a look at the slideshow at Elizabeth Anne Designs. This slideshows you 15 different ways to use Baby's breath.

If you are doing the flowers yourself, it is possible to grow your own baby's breath. It is a nice, perennial flower to have in your garden. It is a typical summer flower.
